Michelle Jacobo, PhD: Study Therapist
Dr. Jacobo received her BA from Indiana University, her PhD from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and completed her PhD training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She was an intern, Post Doc and Faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1996-2019, where she cared for many patients across the hospital. At MGH she was the Director of an outpatient therapy program (DBT), Chief Psychologist on the inpatient service, and active in training residents, fellows, and post-docs throughout her tenure. She received several teaching awards from her students.

Dr. Jacobo joined Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 2019 as Director of Psychology Services for Supportive Oncology and remains Assistant Professor of Psychology on Faculty through Harvard Medical School. She serves as the Clinical Director of Ambulatory Services for Adult Psychosocial Oncology and is a leader on the Strategic Threat Assessment Response Team. She is also an attending psychologist and founding member of the CL Psychology service at the Brigham and Women’s hospital.

She maintains a private practice in the Boston area, and is a consultant therapist to the Boston Red Sox for players and families, particularly around wellness and resilience in coping.
