Leora Lowenthal, LICSW, OSW-C, MPA, FAOS: Study Therapist
Leora Lowenthal, LICSW, OSW-C, MPA, FAOSW, has been in healthcare for 29 years and currently works as a Senior Clinical Social Worker at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. Ms. Lowenthal holds dual master’s degrees in social work and public administration, and a post-graduate certificate in Bioethics and the Medical Humanities.
In addition to her clinical work, she serves on advisory councils for a variety of organizations including the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC), Cancer Support Community-Massachusetts Chapter (CSC-MA), and Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation (CLF) and has served on the Board of Oncology Social Work Certification (BOSWC). She is also a Master Trainer for ESPEC: Educating Social Workers in Palliative and End of Life Care.
Ms. Lowenthal has served as Education Director, and 2023 President for the Association of Oncology Work (AOSW), was honored as an AOSW Fellow in 2021 for her contributions to psychosocial oncology and received the award for Leadership in Oncology Social Work in 2025. Currently she represents AOSW as an invited director with the American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS).
