Holly Barron, MSW, LICSW, Study Therapist
Holly Barron MSW LICSW is a Senior Clinical Social Worker at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She has been working as a member of the clinical team in the Gastrointestinal Cancer Center since 2021, and was working with patients in the Hematological Malignancies disease center for 5 years before that. Holly received her undergraduate degree in Music Industry at Northeastern University, and her master’s in social work at San Diego State University. As a senior clinical social worker, Holly provides emotional support and counseling for patients and their families from diagnosis throughout their care at Dana-Farber, navigating together with them through the trajectory of their illness, and exploring the multitude of ways cancer impacts a person’s life. Holly provides supervision and mentorship to fellow social work staff. Holly has specific interests in grief, bereavement, and end of life work, and co-facilitates the Social Work Department Remembrance sessions. In the Gastrointestinal Cancer Center, Holly co-facilitates the Metastatic Cancer Support Group, and helped to develop and launch the GCC Remembrance quarterly meeting for staff. Holly joined the psychedelic-assisted therapies program as a therapist in 2025, and has a strong interest in how psychedelic therapies can aide in facilitating coping and meaning-making for individuals living with cancer.
